About Michelle…
Hi! I am Michelle Kennedy Hogan. I am wife to John (an Uber-Geek) and the mother to Matt, 17; Lydia, 16; Alex, 13; Liam, 11; Jack, 4; and Kiara , 1.
I have written a number of books on parenting & pregnancy by Barron’s and a memoir, “Without a Net: Middle Class and Homeless (With Kids) in America,” by Viking - as well as articles on attachment parenting, gardening, raising teens, simple living, eating well, living cheap, homelessness and poverty, freelancing and much more.
You can find out more about my newest book: “A Fine Mess: Living Simply With Children,” at my personal web site.
Some of my articles have been published in places like Salon.com, The NYT, The CSM, Redbook, Family Circle, Wondertime and FamilyFun.
As Founding Editor of Organically Inclined, I get to write about a lot of things that interest me.
I am also an activist and work hard on issues like homelessness and poverty.
I frequently speak to organizations and groups about raising kids, working at home, homeschooling and unschooling, homelessness, poverty issues, simple living, being frugal and going “green.”
To interview me for a story your working on - or to ask me to speak at your event,
please email me.
My newsletter and blog, Organically Inclined, celebrates living simply as a way of life - not only as a way to save money or live more softly on the Earth - but also as a way to live more spiritually. Through natural childrearing, gardening, and being more conscious of our footprints on the planet, we believe that a family can live a purposeful life, without debt and stress. By having less, we can be more.
