Cathy,

I am so sorry for your losses! What a strong and courageous woman you are.

As for the so-called New Year's baby - at least you'll always know the truth - and it sounds like any woman who would make an appointment to have the "New Year's" baby - probably needs the free pizza...and perhaps a psychiatrist!:-)

Bless You!

haha, omg all you people are so funny to me. They are a joke and TLC makes sure we are informed just how much of a joke they are. Their way of life is RIDICULOUS and its a selfish and HORRIBLE thing to have that many kids.. incredibly SELFISH! They have no idea that there is a world outside of a military home lifestyle that is completed by getting married.. bunch of crap if you ask me.. marriage is not the highlight of life.. and not kissing before the wedding day.. absolute rubbish.

Oh...and I have had two hospital births... one with pain drugs, one with lesser pain drugs (and dystocia caused by poor positioning and a resident who PUSHED my son back inside me while I was pushing and locked his shoulder) and one midwife attended birth center birth ( a REAL birth center, not a foofie hospital one).

Get this... I gave birth 10 minutes after midnight the last time around, with no doctor, just my midwife and an apprentice. My daughter was the first birth on our county and third in the state!

Anyway, across town, a woman *SCHEDULED* her C-section to be at midnight so she would get the years' supply of free diapers and pizza. (the New years baby prize) However, the resident doctor delivered the baby early at 11:57 PM.

BUT... despite the fact that we got the TV spots, the news crews, and official title. the woman who had the C-section got the prizes because she "Tried harder and had a real hospital birth."

OK. Apparently making an appointment and lying on your back is harder than 14 hours of labor and a drug-free delivery.

OMGOMGOMG!!
CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Oh, I am so jealous..... i have been pregnant six times, lost three pregnancies, lost one duaghter at the age 7 in a car accident.... and want another baby so badly... oh how I want to be a mommy again.... but my husband has not been there for me in last pregnancies/births.
I have accpeted, sadly, the fact that i will never have any more babies because it is too hard doing it alone, especially in a rural isolated setting.

But congrats to you!!!

Congrats! I also am a huge advocate of natural child birth for many of the same reasons you listed above.

My husband and I took the Bradley Method courses, and really found them to be helpful in preparing us for the birth of our daughter.

I thought this was interesting, "I also find it odd that we, as mothers, will scold any woman who even looks at a glass of wine during her pregnancy, but will totally understand someone willing to put drugs in her (and her child’s) body just because she’s in labor." Never thought about that before.

I just stumbled upon your blog. It is totally up my alley. But this post really takes the cake. I have 5 children and would love to be blessed with more. I love the come back page. When people say "I don't know how you do it" I say "only by the grace of God!"
